The Western Cape Branch hosted a Careers in Concrete event at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) on Tuesday, 15 April 2025.  

This was the first Careers in Concrete at CPUT and certainly won’t be the last. The students were very engaged and enthralled to hear the stories of the different speakers from both the consulting and contracting sectors. Food and drinks were had afterwards, with students chatting to the many sponsors who helped make this event a successful one.

Thank you to Maurice Habets at CPUT for hosting us and the sponsors – a.b.e., Empa Structures, Zutari, Sika, Penetron, and Chryso.  Last but certainly not least, a big thank you to our speakers, Ahmed Mahomedy (Zutari), Werner Jerling (ASLA), and Carla Rohm (SMEC), who took time out of their busy schedules to share their stories and advice. Without them, Careers in Concrete would never have been as successful as it was on the day!
