The Concrete Society of Southern Africa is proud to reflect on the outstanding success of its SANS 51992-1-1 Seminar Roadshow, held during June 2026 in Cape Town (9 June), Durban (11 June) and Johannesburg (23 June).

Hosted at the Lagoon Beach Hotel, Coastlands Umhlanga and Premier Hotel O.R. Tambo respectively, the roadshow brought together consulting engineers, contractors, academics, technologists and industry professionals from across the country to unpack the practical implementation of South Africa's new concrete code.

The seminar featured an exceptional line-up of speakers led by Dr Kim Timm from Stellenbosch University as keynote presenter. She was joined by Duard Erasmus, Peet de Klerk and Jean-Pierre Rousseau from AECOM, Jack Huang from Zutari, and Thabang Letsoalo from Struxit, each sharing valuable technical insights and practical experience relating to the application of SANS 51992-1-1.

The presentations generated excellent engagement and discussion at all three venues, with delegates welcoming the opportunity to interact directly with leading industry experts and fellow professionals. The positive feedback received throughout the roadshow highlighted the industry's appetite for high-quality, face-to-face technical learning and networking opportunities.
