Mark is the owner of Concrete Testing Services (Pty) Ltd, a SANAS-accredited laboratory specialising in the testing of cement, concrete, and related materials. Following the retirement of Dave Tite in 2017, the laboratory has continued to operate as a leading testing facility in South Africa under Mark’s leadership.

Mark holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. His career spans a broad range of experience, including construction, ready-mix concrete, and cement manufacturing. He also has extensive expertise in fly ash and played a leading role in establishing the first fly ash extraction plant outside of the cement cartel, which was disbanded in 1995.

In addition, Mark served as President of the South African Coal Ash Association for four years, succeeding Dr Richard Kruger.
