SUMMARY:CONCRETEFiX 5.6 - Extrinsic Factors That Alter True Measured Concrete Strength
DESCRIPTION:By Dr Roderick Rankine\, Rod Rankine Engineering Solutions cc \nThe measured strength of concrete has life changing implications for safety\, profitability and survival of construction companies. Not only does this strength depend upon the composition and intrinsic properties of the concrete tested\, but also on the way the concrete is tested. Testing standards\nattempt to standardise testing methodologies to ensure that measured strength is true\, reliable and accurate. Departures from these standards (whether intentional or unintentional) can have profound effects on measured strength (usually to the downside) often leading to needless disputes and even bankruptcy. This presentation will demonstrate the most common mistakes by means of reference to case studies and laboratory demonstrations and it will endeavour to offer guidelines to avoid pitfalls. \nDATE: Thursday\, 22 May 2025\nvia Teams @ 15:00 SAST (UTC+2 hours)\nAttendance Free \nECSA CPD accreditation applied for\nOnly CSSA Members qualify to receive ECSA CPD points.\nTo become a Member visit our website: www.concretesocietysa.org.za or contact Natasja. \nRSVP\nNatasja Pols on or before Wednesday\, 21 May 2025 to natasja.pols@concretesocietysa.org.za \nRSVP HERE\n\n
